Scientific Games snaps up Spicerack Media
Scientific Games has purchased Spicerack Media, the mobile and social media company responsible for the highly popular Bingo Showdown.
According to a press statement, SG believes Spicerack will complement its stable of social casino games and mobile offerings. Furthermore, Scientific Games chief executive Barry Cottle believes the deal will be “immediately accretive to earnings and cash flow.”
“We are excited by the addition of Spicerack’s talented team and complementary nature of their successful bingo game offering to our expanding portfolio of rapidly-growing social casino apps,” Cottle added.
Spicerack co-founder Davy Campano was every bit as upbeat as the SG CE: “We are excited to bring our product portfolio into a company with the reputation of Scientific Games.
“Their interactive business has seen rapid growth over a sustained period of time. [Spicerack]’s proud to be joining such a successful part of the company.”

About Spicerack Media
This little company started out in 2007, making games for Facebook’s nascent gaming platform. Since then, Spicerack has developed a host of bingo titles and other games that take advantage of the social ecosystem built into the Facebook system. Bingo Showdown is its most popular title and the company’s creativity and skills that made it the perfect addition to the Scientific Games group of assets.
In addition to its social gaming titles, Spicerack Media has also developed several mobile apps, available through the Apple and Android app stores. This brought Spicerack’s products to an even wider audience than before and illustrated this small-but-mighty team’s capabilities.
