Fresh from breaking records at the Open, Sweden’s Henrik Stenson looks in good shape to add the PGA to the coveted claret jug.

Bet365 now has the proud son of Gothenburg at 16/1 to win the last major of the year.

With this year’s event scheduled to take place at the Baltursol course in Springfield, New Jersey, reigning champion Jason Day is the 81/ joint favourite to retain his title.

Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy – who won the tournament in 2012 and 2014 – sits alongside the Australian, while Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth are a smidgeon behind at 9/1 and 10/1 respectively.

As for Phil Mickelson – Stenson’s partner for the final two rounds at Royal Troon – he’s a little way back at 20/1 just ahead of Aussie Adam Scott who Bet365 has at 25/1 with English US Open winner Justin Rose.
