The UK broadcasting giant Sky have announced further expansion plans to their gambling empire with the creation of 90 new jobs at the company’s Leeds HQ.
Sky, who aside from their broadcasting concerns run Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Poker, Sky Bingo and Oddschecker, remain huge players in the UK gambling market despite the sale of a majority stake of the company in December 2014 to CVC Capital Partners for £800 million.
The new positions, which are all based in Sky Bet’s offices in Wellington Place in Leeds, have been created to deal with the rapid expansion of Sky Bet’s online gambling facilities over the past year.
The managing director at Sky Betting and Gaming, Richard Flint, said: “This is a really exciting time for Sky Bet and I’m really pleased to be able to confirm that we are continuing to invest in Yorkshire with the recruitment of 90 new team members as we continue to grow our business.”
“The expansion of Sky Bet over the last year means we now need more people to join a number of our departments here in Leeds.”
Sky Bet’s HQ in Leeds will employ around 600 people once the positions have been filled. Sky moved their HQ to Leeds from Harrogate in 2010.
“(We are) looking for the very best individuals, which is often more about candidates having the right attitude and potential rather than solely focusing on experience,” said Flint. “We do everything we can to provide the right environment that delivers job satisfaction, fulfilment and which also nurtures talent.”
The new positions at Sky Bet have been created across a range of departments, including technology, product development, marketing and customer service.
