Play takes place in front of a splendid mansion with wobbling palm trees and an ornate fountain. You can select your coin size from 0.02 to 0.50, and your bet per line from one to five. There are thirty possible pay lines in total, and all are selectable. When you're ready to try your own 'get rich quick' scheme, hit the 'spin' button.
Payout & bonus rounds
The lowest prize-winning payout is for three laptops or bottles of champagne, at 5x your bet-per-line. The jackpot in normal play is for five of the speccy tycoon (probably a computer genius) at 500x your wager.
The progressive jackpot is only available if you bet at the maximum level. You need to land five silver briefcases on an active payline in order to win it.
You'll notice there are 'fs' symbols on some of the tycoon symbols. Land three of the same character on a pay line containing an 'fs' symbol and you activate a random number of free spins. During your freebies one of the three central reels will become completely wild, and any character wins that match the triggering character are doubled.

There's lots to say that's positive about Tycoons, but it's not going to have that longevity that many of Betsoft's slots have. The bonus features are very tame, and it's not exactly the most thrilling slot ever created. The best thing about it is of course that progressive jackpot.
