The Tipsy Tourist Slot

Now, we all know that alcohol and gambling go together about as well as Piers Morgan and humility, so it's surprising that Betsoft's latest release is called 'The Tipsy Tourist'. This is a 5-reel max 20-pay line slot with a number of neat features. The game loads with a snazzy video in which a bored IT worker (is there any other kind?) faces his latest mountain of paperwork and decides to jet off to Miami instead (although we have to say it looks more like The Bahamas). A quick costume change and hair makeover later and the tipsy tourist is inviting you to join him in sunny Miami Beach. Joining him on the reels is a sun-kissed beach babe, other sandy symbols and playing card values ten to ace.
To get things started, you need to choose your coin value from 0.02 to 1.00. You can also choose how many lines you want in play, from one to all twenty, and your bet-per-line which can be anything from one to five. Your final wager is these three values mutliplied together. To win, you need to land at least three of the same symbol in sequence from the left hand reel on an active pay line. When you're ready to go sun (and jackpot) seeking, hit the spin button.
Payout & bonus rounds
Payouts commence at 3x your bet-per-line for three tens. The jackpot of 350x is obtained for five of the tipsy tourist.
The 'Party Beach Wild' symbol substitutes for all symbols aside from the two bonus symbols (see below). The wild appears on all but the left-hand reel and during free spins it becomes 'clingy' – it sticks to the reels and remains in place throughout all your freebies.
A beach ball symbol acts as the scatter and appears on the three right-hand reels. You earn eight free spins if you land a scatter on each of the three right-hand reels in any position. Free spins can be retriggered.
The red cup symbol appears on the three left-hand reels and if you land three regardless of position you enter the 'Drinking Bonus Round'. In this game you get to choose 'tree' or 'cup' for the toss of a coin. Guess right and you win cash plus your opponent is forced to take a drink. Guess wrong and you win nothing, plus it's your turn to hit the booze. Once one of you has finished all three drinks the bonus round is over.
You can gamble all wins on a double-or-nothing basis. You have to guess the colour of a hidden playing card, with the result you'd expect depending on whether you're right or wrong.
Even pushing the dubious theme to one side for the moment, we have to say this is not one of Betsoft's best, especially when you compare it to the wonderful Pinocchio released early in 2015. The bonus games are pretty mundane, and the whole thing leaves you feeling a little flat. You might win enough cash to pay for a holiday to Miami yourself, but you're probably going to get pretty bored before then! As for gambling 'tipsy' – just don't!
