The Flinstones Slot
The Flintstones is a 5-reel, 4-row, 1,024 'all ways pay' online slot from Playtech. Everyone has heard of The Flintstones – the animated cartoon show of a 'modern stone-age family'. The sit-com centred around blue-collar quarry worker Fred Flintstone, his wife Wilma, his best friend Barney and Barney's wife Betty. Later additions included Fred and Wilma's daughter Pebbles, and Barney and Betty's son Bamm-Bamm (who was incredibly strong). The show ran for six seasons from 1960 to 1966. It later spawned a terrible live-action movie version in 1994 starring John Goodman as Fred and Rick Moranis as Barney, and an even worse prequel in 2000. Depsite ending in 1966, The Flintstones has been repeated endlessly on TV channels all over the world ever since. There have been several spin-offs too, including one featuring Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty as children.
All the major Flintstones characters can be found on the reels in this game, along with Dino (Fred's dog-like pet dinosaur) and The Great Gazzo (a marooned space alien whom only Fred, Barney and their children and can see and hear – and probably the least-loved of all the Flintstones cast). Making up the numbers are playing card values jack through to ace. This slot has four rows and 'all ways pay', making a total of 1,024 possible pay lines. Payout & bonus rounds
The lowest winning payout in this game is for three identical playing card values, which wins you five coins. Top of the payout tree is Dino – five of him wins you one thousand coins.
Dino is wild in this game. He substitutes for all other symbols aside from the bonus symbol and free games symbol.
The 'Free Games' symbol appears on the central three reels. If you land three symbols all at the same time, then you get to choose one of three Flintstones free games modes, as follows:
- Dino Multiplier: (10 free games) – Dino may dig for bones on any free games spin. Every bone he finds increases your win multiplier.
- The Great Gazoo: (12 free games) – the 'Great Gazzo Extra Wild' randomly turns other symbols wild. The Great Gazoo also acts as a wild during your free games.
- Wilma Wild: (5 free games) – Wilma vacuums up any wilds that land on the reels after every free games spin. Every wild that's collected is placed on the reels for the final 'Ultra Spin' !
The bonus symbol appears on reels one, three and five. If you land one anywhere on each reel after the same spin, then you trigger the 'Bedrock Bowling Bonus' game. In this game you join Fred at the bowling alley. Your cash prize is multiplied by the number of pins you knock down, and if you score a strike you receive an extra throw.
For one final feature, there's 'The Flintstones Rocky Ride'. After any main game spin Fred and Barney may roll in to create mystery symbols and win multipliers. A wheel at the top of the reels will be spun, and it'll reveal a win multiplier that will be applied once the feature has ended. Fred and Barney will throw mystery symbols onto the reels – all mystery symbols then turn into the same symbol in order to create wins.
Even if you're no fan of The Flinstone's stone-age antics, this is still a great slot. Any slot that has a lot of features always impresses us, as does any with an 'all ways pay' attitude.
