The Dark Knight Slot
The Dark Knight is a 5-reel, 243-pay line slot from Microgaming. As you've probably guessed, this slot is based on the second of Christopher Nolan's inspired Batman re-boots, sandwiched between the slightly less-than-brilliant Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises. This game could be a huge jackpot winner for you, as it has no less than four progressive jackpots. Because of this, the game is not available to play for play money. The symbols used in the game include characters from the movie, including Christian Bale as Batman and Heather Ledger's very memorable and malevolent Joker.
All possible lines are in play at all time, so to win you just need to line up identical symbols on consecutive reels from the left-hand side in any order. The more you line up, the more you win. To start the spinning, you need to select your coin size (from 0.01 to 2.00) and the number of coins you want to gamble, from one to ten. Your total stake is always your coin size multiplied by the number of coins in play, multiplied by 30. The more coins you have in play, the bigger the prizes you can win.
Payout & bonus rounds
Prizes start at 10x for three of Chin Han as 'Lau', up to x400 for five of the caped crusader himself. Less profitable are playing card symbols – three tens or jacks wins double your bet per line.
The progressive jackpots are triggered randomly and there are four in total – Mini, Minor, Major and Mega. Each of them start at different amounts – 10 coins with the Mini jackpot and a whopping 1,000,000 with the Mega bonus. If you're lucky enough, a spinning wheel will pop up and you will be required to choose your side – either Batman's or the Joker's. Spin the wheel to see if you can significantly boost your casino bankroll.
The Joker symbol acts as a scatter, and landing at least three anywhere on the reels will trigger 15 free spins with a 2x multiplier.
The Batman symbol is the wild symbol, and substitutes for all other symbols aside from the Joker symbol. To increase your chances of winning, the wild symbols are stacked three-high on each reel.
The Batman or Joker also appear randomly during the game to award special bonuses, stacked wilds and mutlipliers.
The Dark Knight looks amazing and plays really well, but in the end seems to come up a little short. A couple more bonus features would not have gone amiss, including a bonus game, although those Gotham City-sized progressive jackpots will always make this game worth a few spins!
