Robotnik is an odd little 5-reel, 40-pay line slot from those tongue-twisting guys at Yggdrasil gaming. The first oddity here is that this online slots game has four reels instead of the usual three. The second oddity is that despite the name Robotnik, and the main robotic character (who pays more than a slight resemblance to what one would imagine the offspring of Wall-E and Eva would look like) this game is more about collecting precious minerals than any other robotic antics. The third oddity is that this game does seem to take an extremely long time to load. When the game does finally get going there's a rather sweet musical theme from someone who obviously loves the echo decay button on their synth.
The symbols in this game are all minerals and rocks that float lazily around in space waiting for you to hit the 'spin' button and launch them into orbit. The forty pay lines are fixed, but you can choose your coin value from 0.01 to 0.50, so your range of wagers is from 0.40 to 20.00. To set things rocking, just hit the spin button. You're looking for pay outs, which are achieved by landing at least three successive symbols in sequence from the left hand reel.
Payout & bonus rounds
Payouts commence at x4 your bet-per-line for three 'green pointy rocks' up to the maximum of 500x for five red crystal-like structures.
There are two wild symbols in this game. There is a normal wild symbol which substitutes for all other symbols, and then there is the 'Wild 3x' symbol which also substitutes for all other symbols but in addition multiplies any wins in which it appears by three. Additionally, any wilds of either type triggers a respin in which all the wilds remain in place, and respins continue until the reels land and no new wilds are received.
The star of this slot though is of course Robotnik himself, who is wonderfully animated. He will pop up at random either during a spin or after a spin and smash rocks so they become wild symbols. Any new wins are calculated, and the usual re-spin is triggered.
Robotnik is another slots game from Yggdrasil that follows their standard template of games that are great to look at it, but do lack a little when it comes to the kind of complexity associated with other modern releases. If you like your slots great-looking but lacking in features, then Robotnik should really rock your world!
