Rainbow Reels Slot
Rainbow Reels is a 5-line, max 20-pay line online slots game from Novomatic. There is no online slots provider that's worth its salt if it hasn't created at least one Irish-themed slot. Off the top of our heads, we can think of Rainbow RIches, Irish Eyes, and even Leprechaun goes Egypt. Now Novomatic have gotten in on the Irish-theme act with Rainbow Reels.
This slot has a wonderful background of a rainbow streaking across rolling green fields. There are twenty pay lines in total, and you can select as many as you want in play for each spin. The main symbols used are playing card symbols – ten through to ace. There are a number of special symbols too – a pot of gold, a wishing well, a wild leprechaun, a bonus rainbow symbol and the rainbow reels logo.
To set your stake select the 'menu' button. You can choose your bet-per-line and the number of lines you want in play from here. You can also see the pay table and select your music and sound preferences. When you're ready to search for the end of the rainbow, hit the spin button.
Payout & bonus rounds
The lowest winning payout you can obtain is five times your bet-per-line, for either three tens, jacks or queens. You can also double your bet per line if you land two 'Rainbow Reels' logo symbols or 'Leprechaun Wild' symbols.
The leprechaun is indeed wild in this game – probably because he thinks you might be after his lucky charms! He subsititutes for all other symbols aside from the bonus symbols.
If you land at least three rainbow scatter symbols anywhere on the reels, then you are awarded the 'over the rainbow' bonus. You are presented with a rainbow filled with four-leaf clovers. You get to pick them, picking up cash prizes as you do so. You keep adding to your prize bonanza until you pick a 'collect' symbol, at which point the bonus round ends.
By landing three or more 'pots of wealth' scatters anywhere on reels two, three or four you are awarded the 'pot of wealth' bonus. Select one of the pots to be awarded a mystery cash prize.
Three or more 'wishing well' scatters awards you the 'wishing well' bonus. Select one of the wishing wells to reveal your cash bonus.
All wins can be gambled. You must choose whether you think a hidden card will be red or black when revealed. Choose right to have your win doubled, but choose wrong and your win is lost. You can keep gambling until you reach the limit of 10,000 coins.
Novomatic's slots tend to be at the simpler end of the slots market, so it's nice to see them try something with just a few more extra features. Having said that, those extra features are actually pretty standard fare, but it's still nice to have them. This is not the best Irish-themed slot you will find, but it's not the worse, either.
