The Murder Mystery online slot is a 5-reel, 40 pay line online slot game from bgo Entertainment. The theme of this slot seems to be very loosely based around a very famous detective board game. It's easy to work out which, and if you've a clue, do tell! The symbols are all suspects from the game, as well as some very nasty-looking murder weapons.
To play, you select your bet-per-line of between 0.01 and 3.00. All forty pay lines are in play at all times, so your actual bet will be between 0.40 and 120.00, in 0.40 multiples. To land a win, you need to land at least three identical symbols in sequence on a pay line from the left hand side.
Payout & bonus rounds
Prize jackpots range from 3x your bet-per-line for three sapphire or emerald gems, to a tasty treat of 750x for five 'Wild' symbols.
- The wild symbol substitutes for all other symbols aside from the 'Scatter' symbol. The scatter symbol is a bowler-hatted detective with a handsome 'tache. Three or more scatter symbols triggers the bonus features, of which four are available:
- Wild spins – you receive between 12 and 25 free spins depending on how many scatters you land. Two 'overlay' wilds are added to the reels for the duration of the free spins.
- Reveal spins – you're awarded between 6 and 12 free spins in which mystery symbols appear and turn into high-payout symbols or wilds.
- Clue hunt – You must hunt down as many weapons as you can. The more you find, the more you win.
- Multi spins – you receive 12, 16 or 25 free spins with all wins multiplied by three.
The 'Mystery' symbol appears during murder spins. This is a random feature where the mystery symbols reveal first a murder weapon, and then the murderer, guaranteeing a win on both spins.
Murder Mystery is another decent effort from bgo Entertainment, but doesn't quite match the high standards they've made for themselves with some of their other releases. It's still worth a few spins, though, particularly in the hope of landing one of the bonus features, although it's no mystery as to why this game doesn't trouble the top of the slots charts.
