The Monopoly slot is a 5-reel, 9 pay line online slot game from IGT. The game is based on the world famous board game that was first released by Parker Brothers in the US in 1933, and has been enthralling and boring – depending on your point of view – people ever since. The purpose of the game is to become the richest player, bankrupting all other players into oblivion.
All the symbols of the game will be familiar to Monopoly players, with a few fruits thrown in for good measure. Some of the Monopoly's properties have been included as well, such as The Strand, Piccadilly and Mayfair. To play the game, you select your bet per line from 0.02 to 50.00, and the number of lines you want in play. Once you're happy, just hit the 'play' button to spin the reels. Land three or more identical symbols in sequence on one of your pay lines (and in some cases just one or two) from the left-hand reel and you're a winner.

The payouts range from x2 for one 'Monopoly' symbol to x12,500 for five Monopoly symbols or 'Wild' symbols.
The wild symbol substitutes for all other symbols aside from the 'Bonus' symbol and the 'Instant Bonus' symbol.
If you land three Instant Bonus symbols in any position, you earn the Community Chest Instant Bonus. You choose one of three chests, which will reveal a prize multiplier. Your prize is your bet multiplied by this multiplier.
If you land three bonus symbols on a pay line you're through to the 'Pass 'Go' Bonus' game. You click on one of the bonus symbols to reveal the number of rolls you have. The bonus game is a mini version of Monopoly. You're given a reward worth 10 to start you off, and each time you land on a property this reward grows – for example if you land on Park Lane you add 35 to the reward. You also earn a x2 bonus multiplier if you land on Go, and a x3 multiplier if you pass Go at least twice. In the game crime does actually pay as if you end up in jail, you can win another multiplier depending on how many doubles it takes you to get out again. At the end of the bonus game your line bet is multiplied by your rewards and your multipliers to get your final win amount.
The Monopoly slot is a lot of fun, even if you're not a fan of the game itself. The gameplay is unusually fast for a slot game, and there are a lot of possible win combinations which means you do win quite often – it's just the big wins that are harder to come by. Just be responsible with your gambling – becoming bankrupt in real life is a lot tougher than becoming bankrupt in Monopoly.
