Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 2 Slot
Lucky Larry's Lobstermania 2 is a 5-reel, fixed 40-pay slot from IGT. This slot has been created by King Show Games but is leased via IGT, and it's something of a rarity in no less than three ways. Firstly, it's a sequel. Granted the sequel to 'Lucky Larry's Lobstermania' was not anticipated in the same way as 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' was (although it was a close run thing), but sequels to slots are few and far between, so it was still something lovers of the original Lobstermania (released in August 2011) celebrated. Secondly, Lucky Larry's Lobstermania 2 is a rare rendering of an IGT real world slot, and thirdly, Lucky Larry's Lobstermania 2 has not one, and not two, but three progressive jackpots attached to it.
Interestingly, Lucky Larry's Lobstermania was originally released as a PC/Mac game. It was bundled with four other games, including Cats and Betti the Yetti. Lucky Larry's Lobstermania 2 is very much an online release.
We're guessing that Lucky Larry is the name of the lobster whom features on the reels. He can't be all that lucky as he's red, which means he's been cooked. Uncooked lobsters are dark blue. He doesn't seem too unhappy about his lot, anyway. He is joined on the reels by playing card values eight to king along with other sea-related scenes. You can choose your coin value from 0.01 to 10.00 but your bet is always your coin value multiplied by sixty for all forty lines and the bonus features. When you're ready to reel in your lobster pot, hit the 'spin' button.
Payout & bonus rounds
The lowest winning payout in the base game is 5x your coin size for three eights, nines, ten, jacks or queens. The biggest payer is the golden 'Lobster Mania 2' symbol – five of them wins you 8,000x your line bet.
There are two wild symbols, one golden and one blue. The golden wild substitutes for all other symbols aside from the 'Lucky Larry' symbol. The same is true of the blue wild except that does not substitute for the golden wild.
On every spin, a 'Jackpot' symbol may appear over any symbol aside from the Lucky Larry symbol. If you land three jackpot symbols on a pay line in sequence you win the 'Light Trap' progressive jackpot. Four earns you the 'Full Trap' jackpot and if you are lucky enough to land five you win the top progressive jackpot available, the 'Mother Lode' jackpot.
Occasionally multipliers (either 5x or 3x) will appear on the buoy, boat, lighthouse and boathouse symbols on the central reel. If this happens when the symbol appears in a win, then the value of that win is multiplied by the multiplier.
If you land three or more 'Lucky Larry' symbols on a pay line then you win a cash prize between forty and ninety-five times your current line bet, and you can choose one of two bonus games:
- Lucky Larry's Buoy Bonus 2: You choose between Brazil, Australia and Maine (for some reason) for your picks. From each buoy two, three or four lobsters are pulled. Each lobster will either award a cash prize, or you might reveal the 'Golden Lobster' who will then award you the Octopus, Kangeroo or Pelican (again, for some reason) bonus. Yippee! You must then pick various animals, one of which will be hiding the elusive Golden Lobster. Once you find the lobster the game ends. Animals not hiding the lobster hold cash prizes, which you collect as the game progresses.
- Lucky Lobster's Free Spins Bonus: You are awarded five free spins in which the pay table is altered to make payouts more lucrative.
The original Lobstermania was a very quirky game, and that quirkiness seems to have been upped a notch for this sequel. Whether you are a fan of 'quirky' (or lobsters) or not will decide how you will feel about this game. It's certainly a very colourful game with a decent amount of fun features – why not try it yourself and 'sea' if you like it? Just don't get 'crabby' with us if you don't!
