Lost Vegas Slot
Lost Vegas is a 5-reel, 243-pay line 'all ways pay' slot from Microgaming. Zombies have already taken over aspects of the online gaming world, with titles such as 'Plants vs Zombies' from Blueprint Gaming, and Zombie Rush from 'Spin Genie'. Now the undead have invaded Microgaming, or more specifically, Las Vegas. The gaming tables and slots lie abandoned, as those who arrived at the 'Adult Playground' recently are now just happy to escape with their lives. Happily, judging by the look of this slot, there were plenty of guns and baseball bats (and even golf clubs) around to help our heroes get away with both their heads and casino chips intact.
In a nice twist, you can either play as the survivors or the zombies in this game. You get different symbols on the reels and slightly different features depending on whose side you choose to be on. Joining the living and the (un)dead on the reels are playing card symbols ten through to ace in the typical Microgaming style.
All possible 243 lines are in play in this game, and you pay a fee of thirty coins in order to play all of them. You can select how many coins you want to risk per spin from one to fifteen, and the size of your coin from 0.01 to 0.10. Your final fee is your coin size multiplied by the number of coins mutliplied by thirty. When you're ready to munch on some brains/rampage through the zombie hordes, hit the spin button.
Payout & bonus rounds
The lowest payout in this game is two coins, which is for three tens. The jackpot in normal play is secured by landing five 'radio active' scatter symbols. This wins 1,500 coins.
If you land three or more scatter symbols anywhere you earn yourself entry into the free spins bonus rounf. This bonus feature has different aspects depending upon which side you happen to be on:
- Survivors: Any playing card symbols that land are removed from the reels, and each symbol that's removed adds to your stash. Winning combos pay again after the symbols are stashed, and a prize is awarded at the end of free spins. Spins continue until all royals have been stashed.
- Zombies: Full zombie stacked symbols infect the reels, turning single wilds into stacked wilds. Free spins continue until all the reels are infected, or you reach fifty spins. If you reach the fifty spin limit you are awarded a bonus prize.
A 'blackout' bonus may strike randomly in the base game on any non-winning spin. All non-playing card symbols award cash prizes, and only one single scatter is required to trigger free spins.
The Lost Vegas logo acts as the wild symbol here. It substitutes for all other symbols aside from the scatter symbol.
The 'Zombie Fist of Cash' feature can arise at any time in the base game. A zombie hand rips through the reels and awards you a random cash prize.
With plenty of varied features, this game is extremely entertaining. The 'choose the way you play' feature is not original (we've seen it in "Grease' for example) but it's always a fun option, especially if you get decent bonus features.
We all know that the genuine zombie apocalypse is probably just around the corner. Until then, why not enjoy several spins on 'Lost Vegas' while you still can?
