The Jurassic Island online slot is a 5-reel, 15 pay line online slot game from bgo Entertainment. This game deals with the amazing ‘Jurassic Island’ – a small landmass which, amazingly, is home to dinosaurs! I wonder why no one has ever thought of making a film along those lines? This game was actually bgo Entertainment’s first effort at making their own online slots game. Just a shame they couldn’t have come up with a more original theme.
The symbols used in this game are playing card values ten to ace along with some of the weird inhabitants of the island, including raptors, giant gorillas and man-eating plants. To win, you need to land at least three identical symbols in sequence from the left-hand reel. All 25 play lines remain in play on every spin, and you can select your coin value from 0.01 to 2.00, giving you a bet range from 0.25 to 50.00.
Payout & bonus rounds
Payouts start out at x5 your coin value for three playing cards, and continue up to the jackpot of x1,000 for five gorillas.
A shaggy-haired dino acts as the ‘wild’ symbol but only appears on the central three reels. If a wild symbol completes a winning line, the wild will expand to cover the entire reel, triggering more wins. A ginger-moustached hunter acts as the ‘scatter’ symbol. Three or more scatters anywhere on the reels allows you to select one of four feature games:
- Multi spins – 10, 15 or 30 free spins (depending on how many scatters you land) with all wins multiplied by three.
- Carnivore spins – 10, 15 or 30 free spins with reels full of high win symbols (no playing cards).
- Raptor spins – 16, 24 or 40 free spins with stacked wilds on the middle three reels.
- Hot shot hunter – a mini game where you get to shoot dinos. The more you despatch to dino heaven, the bigger your prize.
Jurassic Island certainly has a lot of variety, and there is genuinely enough here to keep most slots fans happy. Unfortunately, the game does become repetitive quite quickly, especially once you have played all the bonus games. All-in-all a decent-enough début from bgo Entertainment, but a slot that just lacks a little bit of ‘bite’.
