Jackpot Diamonds Slot
Jackpot Diamonds is a 5-reel, fixed 10-pay line online slot with a progressive jackpot from Novomatic. It takes as the theme of the game one of the most common features found on many online slots – jewels. The reels are completely filled with jewels and no other symbols. This makes the slot look like a certain flash game that all smart phone users were legally obliged to play a few years back. To add a little excitement to the mix, this slot comes with not one, but two progressive jackpots.
All the symbols used in this game are jewels, as we mentioned above, including those all-important chunky diamonds. The other gems are a little tough to work out, as the graphics are not all that brilliant – they are just variously-coloured gemstones – pink, purple, orange, red, green, blue and white. All have their own values attached, with diamonds of course being the most valuable. There are ten pay lines in total, and they are fixed. Your minimum bet here is a hefty 0.40, and the maximum is 50.00 – this is a fixed bet-per-spin amount, rather than your usual bet-per-line. When you're ready to go gem-hunting, hit the 'spin' button.
Payout & bonus rounds
The lowest paying gems are the pink, purple and orange gemstones – each will pay you one-fifth of your total bet if you land three of them in sequence on an active pay line. The jackpot (non-progressive one) is the diamond – five of those wins you 50x your total line bet.
You can also win prizes if you fill the entire screen with the same gem. If you manage to fill the screen with red gems you will win the smaller of the two progressive jackpots. If you see nothing but diamonds, then you win the larger of the two progressive jackpots.
After each winning spin you are awarded the 'Lock and Spin' bonus. All winning combinations are locked in place, and you're awarded a free bonus spin. If you then go on to score another winning combination then this is added to your prize total and the reels are spun again. This keeps on rolling as long as you keep on adding on wins. Once you spin and there's no further win, or you fill the entire reel with the same gem, then the feature ends.
This game also has a 'Hi Roller' feature which can be accessed via the menu. You can choose the silver or gold hi roller options. The silver version costs you five times your normal bet, and the gold version ten times. Each option triggers the multiplier trails – 96% payout at silver level, and 97% payout at gold level. This feature adds to the winning re-spin feature. Each time you win you send a prize multiplier one level across a track – x1 x3 x4 x5 x6 and x8 with silver, and x1 x6 x8 x10 x12 x16 with gold. Your prize is multiplied by your current multiplier, until you reach the top level.
You can also gamble all wins by selecting the colour of a hidden card. Guess right to double your win, but guess wrong and you lose it all. You can gamble up to a maximum of 20,000 coins.
Although this game follows a pretty standard Novomatic template, it's pleasing to see that for once the company has pushed the boat out a little and gone for a game with a few additional features. Play does become really exciting once you have triggered the lock and spin feature and the prizes start to amount. With a bit of luck, you'll be able to grind on until you have filled the entire screen with identical gems and won one of those massive progressive jackpots. A gem of a slot from those guys at Novomatic.
