Gonzo’s Quest Slot
The Gonzo's Quest online slot is a 5-reel, 20 payline game from NetEnt. This game, with its amazing graphics and stunning animations, really upped the ante for slots games when it was released. Gonzo is a pint-sized conquistador (a Spanish soldier) who chances upon an Inca temple and a wall of stone blocks that form the playing arena for the game. Each time you hit the spin button, the wall disappears into the earth and a new set of fifteen blocks tumble down to replace it.
The symbols in the game are all inca-style carvings. Gonzo stands to the left of the wall, watching your game and celebrating any big wins. If you manage to land at least three identical symbols from the left hand reel in sequence you've won! The winning symbols will then disappear and more blocks tumble down to fill the gaps. If another prize-winning line occurs as a result, then you win again! In addition, there's a prize multiplier along the top of the wall that starts at x1, and moves up through x2, x3 and finally to x5 every time you win, although it defaults back down to x1 as soon as the blocks stop tumbling. Win three cascade wins in a row or more and you could be swimming in cash!
Payout & bonus rounds
Payouts range from x3 your stake-per-line for three 'bird' symbols up to x2,500 for three 'inca gods' symbols.
A block with a question mark on it is the 'wild' symbol and substitutes for all other symbols.
The golden block acts as 'free fall' symbol. If you land three or more free fall symbols in succession from the left-hand reel you win ten free falls. Free falls can be re-triggered during free fall rounds.
Gonzo's Quest is everything a slots game should be. It's beautifully simply and genuinely exciting, especially when you find yourself on an 'avalanche' run and you manage to get the prize multiplier all the way up to x5. The graphics are excellent, and Gonzo is wonderfully animated, especially when you win big and he unleashes one of his sexy dance moves. Gonzo's Quest is regarded as one of the true candidates for 'top of the slots', and rightfully so.
