Ghostbusters Triple Slime Slot
Ghostbusters Triple Slime is a 5-reel, fixed 720-pay line online slot from IGT. You may remember a great deal of fuss made last year when the Ghostbusters movie remake was announced with an all-female cast, replacing those iconic 1980s characters played by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and the late Harold Ramis. Well, IGT have thankfully decided to steer away from any controversy by keeping the original cast in this sequel slot, based on those nutty spook hunters and their quest to rid New York City of a load of pernicious phantoms.
This game has a rather odd number of paylines, in 720. This is an 'all ways pay' online slot where the reels are stacked in an unusual way. Reels one and five are three symbols high, reels two and four are four symbols high, and the central reel is five symbols high. Note that this is a 'Multiway Xtra' slot in which pay lines work both left to right, and right to left.
The symbols used in this game are all taken from the original movie, including professors Spengler (Ramis), Venkman (Murray) and Stantz (Aykroyd). Joining them are items of equipment from their ghost-busting days, plus everyone's favourite ghost, Slimer. It costs fifty coins per spin, and you can select your own coin value – anything from 0.01 to 10.00. Your final wager is always your coin value multiplied by fifty. When you're ready to declare "I ain't afraid of no ghost," hit the spin button.

Payout & bonus rounds
The lowest paying symbols in this slot are the ghost detector, the ghostmobile and the ghost proton pack. Land three of these on a payline and you win five coins. The top payer in normal play is the Ghostbuster logo – land five and you win a spook-tacular ten thousand coins.
The Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man appears on the central three reels and is wild. He substitutes for all other symbols aside from the Ghostbusters logo, Slimer and ghost container bonus symbols.
That peskly Slimer is the scatter symbol here. Land three or more of him anywhere on the reels and you trigger the Slimer scatter bonus.
When you trigger the bonus each Slimer symbol becomes a scatter wheel. Each wheel contains various coin multipliers from 10x to 2,000x. You get to spin each wheel, then your prize is calculated by adding the multipliers landed and multiplying that amount by your current coin value.
Three or more ghost container symbols in any position on the reels will trigger the 'Triple Slime' bonus. Ghosts will escape from containment and turn green, purple and red. You then get to spin the bonus wheels that correspond to the colours of your escaping spooks. The purple wheel has coin values from 30 to 1,000, the green wheel 100 to 5,000, and the red wheel multipliers from 2x to 10x. Your winnings are the combination of the sums on any green and purple wheels, multiplied by the total of the multipliers landed on any red wheels.
Ghostbusting may make Ray Parker Jr feel good, but how good would he feel when playing this slot? There's a kind of 'retro' feel to this game, which is entirely appropriate given that it's based on a movie released over thirty years ago. The features are okay, if a little same-y. A decent sequel then, but just like the movies, it's no match for the original.
