Fiesta Cubana is a 5-reel, 'all ways pay' online slots game from Side City Studios released under the NYX Gaming banner. This is the third online slots release from Montreal-based Side City Studios since they were bought by NYX in late 2015. The two other titles are Fortunes of the Amazons and Egyptian Rise. Formed in 1999, Side City Studios were more famous in Canada for their real-world slots, but since the NYX takeover they've branched out online.
This slot takes you back to 1950s Havana (which is the capital of Cuba if you're geographically challenged). The Cubans are having a party, and we're all invited. Whatever you do, don't forget your Panama hat. There are five main symbols – Señorita (lady), Señor (gent), bailarines (dancers), corista (singer) and danzarinas (more dancers). They are joined on the reels by a cigar, a mojita, congas (drums), a guiro (wooden instument) and maracas.

Payout & bonus rounds
Any five identical Señorita, Señor, bailarines, corista or danzarina symbols on a pay line wins the top jackpot in this game of one hundred coins. Any three identical cigar, mojito, congas, guiro or maracas symbols wins the lowest possible pay out of five coins.
If any of the five main symbols in this game feature in a line win that contains a wild, then you earn a free re-spin. Any additional triggering symbols that subsequently appear on each spin will trigger another re-spin. Re-spins keep coming as long as the triggering symbol keeps landing.
The wild symbol – which is the Fiesta Cubana logo – substitutes for all symbols aside from the scatter, but it only appears on reel three.
The 'Tiempo de Fiesta' ('Party Time!') feature is triggered when three 'classic car' scatter symbols appear. Scatter symbols only appear on reels two, three and four. You are awarded eight free games, during which a wild is held in the middle position of the central reel.
Any win can be gambled. You are presented with a playing card that's face down. You can guess the colour of the card to double your win, or the suit to quadruple it. Lose though, and you lose your winnings. You may gamble up to five times in succession.
Sadly, Fiesta Cubana is not the kind of party most people would prefer to get invited to. This slot is very old-fashioned, and the extra features are not likely to get you up dancing with joy as they're pretty old (Panama) hat. We appreciate that Side City Studios are pretty new to this game, but they're going to have to do a bit better than this.
