Bruce Lee Slot
Bruce Lee is a 5-reel, max 60-pay line online slot from WMS (Williams Interactive). Like its sequel – Bruce Lee Dragon's Tale – this is a rendering by WMS of one of their most popular real world Vegas-style video slots. It's based around Bruce Lee, whom was the movie world's most famous martial artist, or at least he was until Jackie Chan arrived on the scene. He was actually born Lee Jun-fan in California in the USA, but his family moved to Hong Kong pretty soon after his birth. He moved back to the US when he was 18, arriving in the country with less than one hundred dollars in his pocket. He was already an established movie actor in Hong Kong, having appeared in more than twenty films. He quit the movies until 1964 to concentrate on martial arts. Pretty soon after that he became the biggest Asian film star in Hollywood, making classic movies such as 'Fist of Fury' and 'Enter the Dragon'. Sadly, at the height of his fame, Lee died from a cerebral edema caused by an allergic reaction to a painkiller.
This Bruce Lee-inspired slot has a rather unusual slots configeration in that the first two reels have two rows, whereas the remaining three reels have four rows. This allows for a total of sixty pay lines, which span from all possible combinations of the first two reels. You can choose the number of pay lines you wish to have in play – 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 or all 60. You can also select your coin size from 0.01 to 2.00. You pay one coin for each two lines, so your final wager is your number of lines mutliplied by your coin size mutliplied divided by two. Despite the strange configuration of reels, your aim remains the same – land identical symbols in sequence on an active pay lines. When you're ready to enter the dragon, hit the spin button.
Payout & bonus rounds
The lowest payout in this game is for three the same of any of the array of martial arts weapons available, at double your coin size. The jackpot payout is for five of Mr Lee, which wins you 200x your chosen bet-per-two-lines.
The hard-kicking Bruce is also the wild symbol in this game. He substitutes for all other symbols aside from the feature symbol.
Speaking of the feature symbol, a red and gold treasure chest is one of the ways to unlock the bonus feature in this slot.
If all four of the symbols on the first two reels are identical, and the feature symbol appears anywhere on each of the last three reels, then you are awarded twenty free spins. During your freebies the first two reels are locked and an expanding wild appears on reels three, four or five along with another 'normal' wild.
If you just land four matching symbols on the first two reels then you are awarded five free spins in which those reels are held.
If you land three scattered feature symbols anywhere on the three four-row reels then you are awarded five free spins. You also get an expanded wild on each spin plus one additional wild.
This highly volatile slot does not really have that much going for it. When we played it we had a ridiculously long run with zero wins. Of course, with highly-volatile slots long winning streaks are just as likely. The unusual reel arrangement seems to make it difficult to work out whether you've scored a winning combination or not, as well. Not one of WMS's finest.
