A Night in Paris slot
A Night in Paris is something every pair of young lovers should experience … and we're not just talking about this superb-looking slot from Betsoft. This game has 5 reels and a maximum of 30 pay lines. A brilliant and quite lengthy video intro starts this game. Mistakenly, the intro calls Paris 'the most beautiful city in the world' – we all know this is actually Bradford. In the intro a would-be art thief has designs on some major works at a splendid Paris museum … but instead runs into a goateed and muscled security guard named Jerome LaBaste his faithful mutt companion. The thief's hopes of some booty soon come unstuck, thanks to the effort of the dynamic Parisian duo.
Your own quest for riches in this game begins with selecting your coin size from 0.02 to 0.50, and the number of lines you want in play from one to all thirty. You can also choose your bet-per-line from one to five credits. While you're doing this, try and ignore the dog in the bottom right hand corner of the screen who constantly bares his fangs at you. When you're ready to taste a little Parisian night life, hit the spin button.
Payout & bonus rounds
Payouts commence at 10x your bet-per-line for three croissants, and rise to 500x for five of that super-tough security chap Jerome.
If you manage to land a thief, a badge and a guard symbol (in that order, or reversed) consecutively on lines one, two and three, then you win a mystery prize. You have to alert Jerome of the thief's appearance first, though.
The badge symbol also acts as the scatter symbol, and landing three anywhere on the reels triggers 'Chase Free Spins' mode. You are awarded a random number of free spins as Jerome and his pet pooch chase the thief around the reels. Once the thief's caught the game's up for both of you.
If you land three or more 'Napoleon' symbols than you trigger the 'Caught in the Museum' bonus round. You must choose whether the thief should steal a vase, statue or painting. Depending on which one you choose you will be awarded a cash prize.
This is both a gorgeous-looking slots game and a lot of fun. Our only criticism of it is that from our experience of playing the game wins are quite a rarity, so more symbols would not have gone amiss. The animation is absolutely spot on, although we wished that damned dog didn't look so menacing. It's a lot of fun to watch all three characters in this slot mess around – including one sequence where the dog seems to act with not a lot of respect towards the 'Max Bet Spin' sign. In short, just another great game from Betsoft.
