European Roulette (Microgaming)
European roulette is one of Microgaming's most enduring versions of roulette, although it has largely been usurped by Microgaming's European Roulette Gold. This the most basic form of roulette with only the simplest types of bets available.
The display has the betting table at a slant across the screen with the wheel itself occupying the top left hand corner. Graphics are purely functional, but completely workable.
You can select your chip value from one to fifty using the slider across the top of the gaming table. To place your bets you need to select where you want the chips to go with your mouse pointer, then click. It can take a little time to master before you learn how to place bets on groups of numbers.
Despite this being European Roulette, only the basic betting table is available.
Once you're happy with your wager, hit the 'Spin' button to set the ball in motion. The animation for the wheel is not very thrilling – the ball takes three trips around the outer wheel before instantly setting into one of the pockets. A second display in the bottom left hand corner shows you where the ball has landed.
Your winnings are calculated automatically. A display in the top right-hand corner of the screen keeps track of the last ten winning numbers, along with their colour.
When it comes to your next bet you can select 'Clear' to clear your chips off the table, or 'Repeat' to take the same numbers for another spin.
Conclusion
This is about as basic a roulette game as you can get, and in truth, it's just not very satisfying. The graphics are poor and the animation too simplistic to make watching the ball bounce around the inter wheel entertaining.
Microgaming have gone on to bigger and better roulette games, and so will you once you've spun the ball around the wheel a dozen times or so.
