Riviera Play Casino in a nutshell
Riviera Play Casino is an online casino that’s owned by Rivieraplay Casino and powered by a number of software providers, including Betsoft and Rival. It’s licensed by the Government of Curaçao and is happy to take players from most available jurisdictions.
You may not know it, but ‘riviera’ is the Italy world for coastline, which means the term riviera has become synonymous with the beautiful seaside areas of France and Italy in particular. Both rivieras are famous for tourist hotspots, some of which – like Monte Carlo – are renowned for their casinos. Riviera Play are perhaps hoping their online offerings become just as famous.
So, will your time at Riviera Play Casino be a sunny one, or will it be overcast with occasional light showers of casino chips? Why not read on to find out?
What’s the look and feel of Riviera Play Casino?
They like colour at Riviera Play Casino, that much is a certainty. The design of this place is quite compact and for once a casino has not gone for the ‘traditional’ online black background – it’s a lovely dark blue hue!
Game selection is very, very easy. Just click on the tabs and you can navigate through to the precise game that you want via a selection of tasty thumbnails.
The only downside to this casino is the standard of English used, which is not brilliant and can lead to confusion.
What games are available at Riviera Play Casino?
Games here are selected into five sections: Video Slots, Classic Slots, Table Games, Video Poker and Live Dealer.
The video slots and classic slots here are all provided by Rival Gaming. You’ll be able to play all of their most popular titles, including Golden Gorilla, A Day at the Derby and Moonlight Mystery. The ‘classic slots’ are all three-reel slots.
On the tables here you’ll find baccarat, blackjack, craps, pai gow poker, red dog, European/American roulette and War.
Completing the line up are seven classic versions of video poker.
For live dealer games here there’s baccarat, blackjack, ‘Caribbean Stud Poker’, craps and roulette.
Software here is provided by Rival Gaming and Betsoft.
There is a live casino here and live support is available, but not twenty-four hours a day. Most days support is available 9am (GMT +1) until 6pm, but on Fridays they knock off an hour early.
There’s a mobile-optimised version of this casino, but it’s only available to logged-in players.
One ‘quaint’ aspect this place. Riviera Play Casino is one of the few remaining online casinos where they offer a download version. It is for Windows only.
What promotions are available at Riviera Play Casino?
One thing that is definitely sunny at the Riviera Play Casino is the welcome bonus that awaits new players here. This is a three hundred percent bonus up to €/£/$3,000! This then is followed up by two further amazing bonuses:
- Second deposit bonus: 250% bonus up to €/£/$2,500
- Third deposit bonus: 200% bonus up to €/£/$2,000
You don’t need to be a mathematical genius to work out that your triple bonus whammy will be worth a staggering €/£/$7,500!
The site is a little lacking about information concerning the bonuses, so it might be best to check with support what’s expected of you when you claim one. The only pertinent information we could find was that you have to wager the bonus thirty-five times, but it does not say what happens next – i.e. is the bonus sticky or not. There’s no mention of game contributions either.
You can refer your friends to the Riviera Play Casino if you like it here. For every friend that you refer, you will earn yourself €/£/$20.
Every wager you play here earns you comp points. As the casino itself says: “Redeem these (comp points) for just €/£/$1!” – we really don’t think they’ve thought that wording through as much as they could have done!
There’s also a separate VIP Club which you are enrolled in as soon as you have deposited €/£/$3,000. Members of the VIP Club here are entitled to fifty percent cashback every time they make a deposit into their account.
Riviera Play Casino accepts Visa and MasterCard debit and credit cards, Paysafecard, iDeal and Neteller, among others.
There’s a lack of information on the site about minimum and maximum payments, but we did find one thing that was a little alarming: “All withdrawals will be paid in from £/€/$250 and up to £/€/$3000 installments.” We hope this just refers to progressive jackpot wins and not general withdrawals, as £/€/$250 is simply too steep. It’s actually hard to know where you stand here, as the T&Cs are confusing, and some just stop mid-sentence.
The final verdict
We have to conclude ‘let the buyer beware’ with this place. Everything looks nice and shiny on the surface but what lies beneath seems a little impregnable, thanks to the haphazard language. There are also qualms from independent players here who mention that support queries are never answered.
Still, there’s a nice-looking online casino here, and those staggeringly good bonuses are just too big to be ignored. Why not catch a ride on the next casino river boat and set sail for the Riviera Play Casino?
