La Riviera Casino in a nutshell

La Riviera Casino is a stylish-looking online casino with a definite continental appeal. If the image you perceive of a casino is a swanky gambling palace in Monte Carlo, then you’ll feel right at home here. Also, if you’re from France or Italy and you’re seeking to sneak a way past your country’s anti-gambling jurisdiction, then you’ll be delighted to learn that the casino is available in both Italian and French.

The casino is another that offers purely RTG (Realtime Gaming) games, which has its good points and bad. Though you can certainly trust RTG’s software, the game catalogue is capped at 200. The best games from the likes of NetEnt and Microgaming are sadly missing.

So, what are your chances of being ‘the man who broke the bank at La Riviera Casino’ ? Keep reading to find out …

What’s the look and feel of La Riviera Casino?

The design of the site looks great and the site responds quickly as you’re navigating around. The image of a scantily-dressed lady awaiting your arm as you march towards the craps table is a little bit cheesy, to be honest. Not too cheesy, but enough to get the mice excited.

The site also works on iOS and Android, but only on the more recent models.

What games are available at La Riviera Casino?

Most of the games are of course, slots, and they are all from RTG’s complete slots portfolio. Table and card games are blackjack, roulette and baccarat with a few ‘oddities’ such as three card rummy and ‘Red Dog Super 21’. Video Poker fans are nicely served with 17 different varieties.

All gaming software is provided by Realtime Gaming (RTG).

What promotions are available at La Riviera Casino?

La Riviera Casino offers two hefty bonuses – a slots-only bonus of 300 percent, and a ‘free’ welcome bonus of €1,000. Both of those seem generous, so let’s examine them a bit closer.

The wagering requirements on the free bonus are a daunting x60 (bonus only), and the bonus has a withdrawal limit of €200. All bonus credits are for wagering purposes only and cannot be cashed out, so once you’ve made your wagering requirement, you need to have at least €1,001 in your account to obtain any cash.

Free spins has the smaller wagering requirment of x40, but that’s for free spins cash AND the deposit. To withdraw your winnings from your free spins (and we assume the same non-withdrawable status holds for this cash as with the deposit bonus) you then have to make a further deposit. This ranges from €20 if you win up to €200, right up to €1,000 if you really hit the jackpot and try and run off with over a grand’s worth of euros.

Of course, there are standard game contributions to take into account. Only slots and keno count 100 percent, while video poker stands at 25 percent, and blackjack at a measly 2 percent. Craps, baccarat, bingo, pai gow poker, poker, roulette, scratch cards and sic bo all count a big, fat zéro.

There are additional bonuses available for separate games, such as 100 percent up to €100 on video poker.

The VIP club at La Riviera Casino is split into five levels, ‘New’ to ‘Platinum’. You need 5,000 VIP points to reach the top, and you earn one VIP point for every €50 you wager or deposit, with the same game contributions as above. Platinum players get to enjoy 20 percent weekly cash-back, higher bet limits and a €500 birthday bonus.

The casino is very strict on depositing and withdrawing. You can only fund with Visa and MasterCard, and you can only withdraw a minimum of €150 and only by Wire Transfer AND you get charged a €20 fee for the privilege. No eWallet solutions whatsoever.

The final verdict

This is one nice-looking online casino, and the bonuses are nice-looking too, although when you look a little closer, you see their beauty is really only skin deep. All the wagering requirments and game contributions are pretty standard for a RTG casino, so the casino cannot really be blamed for that.

Some more funding methods would not go amiss. Oddly, the T&Cs make mention of Neteller and Skrill, but these methods are not listed on the ‘Banking Options’ page.

If you’re a committed fan of RTG’s games, then La Riviera is definitely one place you’ll enjoy yourself, especially if you’re lucky enough to live only a roulette ball’s throw away from Monte Carlo!
