Dunder Casino in a nutshell
Dunder Casino is the latest (March 2016) online casino created by MT SecureTrade Limited. If you’ve read a few of our reviews, then you’ll know these Maltese-based guys run some pretty stellar casinos. Among the other gambling concerns run by MT SecureTrade are Guts, Betspin and Rizk. The initial offering is decent – a £100 welcome bonus with 100 spins for Book of Dead on your first deposit, plus 20 free spins on the same game when you sign up at the site.
We’re not sure how they arrived at the name ‘Dunder’ though. The only defintion we could find is a little alarming – ‘Dunder’ is the liquid left in a boiler after distilling a batch of rum. It’s also the first half of ‘Dunder Mifflin’ – the name of the paper merchant in the US version of the UK TV comedy hit ‘The Office’. Other than that, your guess is as good as ours.
So, is Dunder Casino a rum place to gamble, or will you enjoy feeding a few slots (that’s what she said). Read on to find out …
What’s the look and feel of Dunder Casino?
Dunder Casino is not your usual fare when it comes to design. In general, sites run by MT SecureTrade tend not to follow your typical casino template, and this is what we find here. There is no real menu (aside from a small one at the bottom), and your navigation is driven by very large icons. Does this approach work? To be honest, we’re not exactly sure. You seem to end up endlessly scrolling if you are after a specific title. We like the different approach, but the icons could be with being smaller.
Minimalist and slick, Dunder’s design looks fresh. The Games page has an interesting section that sorts titles not just by game type but also by features such as sticky Wilds and by theme. If you’ve a particular game in mind, the search bar makes finding it easy.
Dunder’s site can sometimes feel a little too sparse. Players who are used to busier casino sites may find navigating this one difficult at first.
What games are available at Dunder Casino?
In total, there are over six hundred games available at Dunder Casino. The guys here take a slightly different approach than the norm to categorisation. As well as the usual (‘Live Casino’, ‘Roulette‘) games are also categorised by ‘themes’ – ‘Blockbusters’, ‘Sticky Wilds’, ‘Stacked Wilds’ and so on. This is an innovative approach, and we are very much in favour of it.
The majority of games at the site are slots, as with all online casinos. There are over five hundred of them, and from most of the best available providers such as NetEnt and WMS.
The lack of other games is a total surprise. If you discount the live casino, then there are only three versions of blackjack and four versions of roulette. We are not terribly impressed at the site’s habit of ‘filling out’ their selection by including an icon for each individual live gaming table. As for other table games, you get two versions of baccarat, three of casino poker plus craps, pai gow poker, red dog and hi-lo. There are also seven versions of video poker.
The live casino here has the most action. You can play baccarat, blackjack, roulette, casino hold ‘me and three card poker with live dealers.
If you were to pick five software providers to fuel your online casino site, the five you’d probably go for are NetEnt, Betsoft, Microgaming, NextGen Gaming (part of NYX) and Play’n GO. Dunder Casino has done just that, so you are guaranteed the very best titles here. Unfortunately due to licensing issues Betsoft’s games are not available to UK-based players.
Their is live support here, but it’s only available twelve hours a day.
The site has a nice mobile version. Thankfully the icons are much smaller!
Can I play at Dunder Casino on mobile?
Dunder’s main site is fully mobile optimised and offers all of the features available on the original. It offers an intuitive interface and a mobile-friendly layout.
Does Dunder Casino have a VIP Programme or Loyalty Scheme?
Dunder does not host a loyalty scheme or a VIP club right now.
What are the pros & cons of Dunder Casino?
Some players may find Dunder’s site a bit of a mystery, given that it seems to have very few buttons to click. A little exploring quickly reveals all the features players have come to expect from a quality casino site.
The mobile offering is very well done, though the lack of a VIP program is somewhat disappointing from such a strong brand.
- Big, bold, brassy site
- Bonus wagering conditions are perfectly reasonable
- 20 Free Spins on Starburst
- £600 deposit bonus available
- Fees for withdrawing and depositing
- A lack of table games
- Finding a specific game can be a bit of an issue
The final verdict
We were rolling along quite happily with Dunder Casino until we hit those transaction fees. Being charged to withdraw your own money that you have legitimately won just leaves a sour taste in the mouth. We’re not too keen on the lack of table games either.
The positives are the innovative site design, and the bonuses available to new players. The wagering conditions are perfectly reasonable too, plus we like that so many of the biggest gambling software providers are represented here. You certainly won’t be classed as a dunder-head if you choose Dunder Casino as your wagering destination.
