Chomp Casino in a nutshell
Chomp Casino is a mobile-optimised site crafted by the Gibraltar company Nektan. Nektan are both a casino hosting and software development company. You’ll find their games at sites as well-known as William Hill Vegas and LeoVegas, and they own other mobile-focused sites such as Winneroo and Spin Princess.
Although designed specifically with smart phone and tablet users in mind, you’ll find that Chomp Casino is compatible with desktop PCs and laptops. It boasts some of Nektan’s own software, plus an arsenal of titles from the likes of NextGen Gaming.
So, does Chomp Casino have plenty of bite, or is it completely toothless? Read on to find out …
What’s the look and feel of Chomp Casino?
Chomp Casino does what it is designed to do, which is about all that can be said about it. One feature we do like is that when you open any game you’re asked whether you want to play with sound or not. This is a boon if you’re in the ‘quiet coach’, or you simply don’t want to disturb others with your mobile gambling.
In pink and black, Chomp Casino isn’t trying to be subtle. Thankfully, its navigation is seriously straightforward
We’ve seem some pretty grim cartoon characters on Chomp Casino but other than that, it’s a good ‘un. The filter system on the left lets players narrow down the games selection easily
What games are available at Chomp Casino?
Gaming wise, we didn’t get too excited about what we found at Chomp Casino. The majority of offerings come from Nektan themselves, and the company cannot be said to be amongst the elite of casino software providers. Nektan’s games are very basic – the likes of which companies such as NetEnt and Microgaming were producing a decade ago.
Chomp Casino is rescued slightly by having NextGen Gaming on board. The best slots here all come from NextGen, and we recommend a few spins on Medusa (and the sequel Medusa II), Foxin’ Wins (and the sequel Foxin’ Wins Again) and Merlin’s Magic (and the sequel … uh … we’re still waiting!). We counted just over twenty slots in total, which is a pretty paltry figure, even where mobile-optimised casinos are concerned.
As for non-slots, there’s ONE version of blackjack, ONE version of roulette, and THREE scratch cards. The roulette has to be played to fully appreciate its awfulness. Once the ball reaches the pockets it simply skips over them then ‘suddenly’ stops. You also cannot let any bets ride – you have to slap your chips on the gaming table for each and every spin.
More like a mobile-optimised seaside arcade, than an online casino.
All software is provided by Nektan themselves, or by NextGen Gaming.
There is no live casino, nor any live support.
Can I play at Chomp Casino on mobile?
Chomp Casino is primarily a mobile site and we must say that the brand has done a good job of it. Intuitive and well designed to fit mobile screens, we daresay the mobile version is better than the desktop.
What promotions are available at Chomp Casino?
Chomp Casino will offer you up to £400 in welcome bonuses. These are split over your first three deposits, and you also get one hundred and fifty spins on the classic slot of all classic slots, Starburst. Your bonus schedule is as follows:
- 1st deposit – 100% cash-match up to £100 + 50 free spins
- 2nd deposit – 100% cash-match up to £100 + 50 free spins
- 3rd deposit – 50% cash-match up to £200 + 50 free spins
Your free spins are worth ten pence each, and can only be used on Starburst. You must use your free spins within seven days else they will disappear from your account.
You need to wager your bonus and deposit at least 30 times before you can cash out. The maximum you can win from your bonuses is five times the bonus amount, and you have 28 days to meet your wager requirements. There are a number of games that you cannot use your bonus credits on – check out the T&Cs associated with this bonus for details, and you’ll be able to see the full list.
Chomp Casino patrons enjoy access to Nektan’s ‘VIP Circle’ scheme. This comes in three flavours: VIP, Premier and Elite. VIPs get priority customer service access, but Premier and Elite customers get a personal account manager. All VIPs receive bigger bonus offers, increased deposit limits and priority withdrawals. Elite members also get invites to exclusive VIP events.
There are only three ways to make a deposit at Chomp Casino – debit/credit cards, Ukash (now Paysafecard) and Skrill. The minimum you’re able to deposit is £5, and the maximum is (cards and Skrill only) £10,000. The max Ukash/Paysafecard voucher is £200.
There’s a pending period of 24 to 72 hours, but Skrill transactions are processed pretty quickly after that. Credit and debit card transactions take between two and five days. The site says it allows you to withdraw ‘up to £200 per Ukash voucher’ but we’re not sure how this is possible, as ‘Ukash’ vouchers are physical codes you buy from a retail outlet. Perhaps they post them to you?
Does Chomp Casino have a VIP Programme or Loyalty Scheme?
Chomp Casino hosts an invite-only VIP club, promising account management, special gifts, higher bet limits and more.
What are the pros & cons of Chomp Casino?
This casino may not look like much but under the somewhat garish design is a decent casino. Its mobile offering seems more well put together than the desktop site so we’d recommend sticking to that one.
- The site is very mobile friendly
- 3 tier VIP scheme
- Not enough cashier options and no live support
- Slight lack of table games
The final verdict
It’s clear that in terms of being an online casino, Chomp Casino is not an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant. It’s closer to a sandwich, a bag of crisps and a can of some carbonated beverage you buy from a petrol station when you stop to fill up.
It’s a decent effort, but Chomp Casino is lacking. A paucity of games (especially non-slots), cashier options and live support all count significantly against it.
By all means, stop by to satisfy your wagering cravings at Chomp Casino. We’re gambling on you still feeling hungry when you are done, though.
